Dogs and Skiing
Cross-country skiing with the help of dogs

Just as bacon improves any food, dogs improve any sport.
Sadly, there aren't many sports canines can, you know, play very well.
Not so with cross-country skiing! Just strap a pup (or two) to a harness, step onto a pair of skis, grab the leash and … MUSH! You are now skijoring!
Though this is the second most adorable thing we've ever seen dogs do, it's still serious business. The national championship in Minneapolis, Minnesota is around the corner. Competitors will race up to 7 kilometers, battling for prize money in the hundreds(!) of dollars.
And you can get in on it! While contest officials ask that entrants and their cross-country canine companions have some skijoring experience, the competition is open to public registration.
Don't feel like your two weiner dogs are up to the challenge? No problem, just join the 4,000 spectators projected to attend.
And for those who can't make the competition, watch this. Then tell your friends you've discovered how to make the Internet 5 million times better: more dogs.
Skijor USA; Competition Feb. 4-5; Registration to compete $32 and ends Jan 31
