A Game With Tazers
The Ultimate Tazerball league comes to a town near you!
Why did the XFL fail?
No star power, poor promotion and probably a lack of on-field electrocutions.
That's why we're the hoping the Ultimate Tazerball League has legs!
Yes this is a real thing.
A brand new sport kicking (shocking? Tazering?) off in Thailand at the end of February, Ultimate Tazerball features full contact 4-on-4 action on a 200' x 85' rectangular playing field.
There's a cartoonishly large soccer-like ball, two opposing goals … and eight Tazers!
Teams play three, seven-minute periods and try to score points by pushing or kicking the ball into the opponent's goal.
Pretty standard.
Not so standard? An eight-foot "shock zone" surrounding each goal. Yup, that's where players can be Tazed with enough power to — according to officials — "Make you drop the ball or hit the ground, but not to effect your heart."
The only thing that can hurt our hearts is if this promising upstart league goes the way of the XFL.
