Jonathan Ages | Founder & Editor

The idea for BSC came to Jonathan after he lost a dodgeball game … to a team with a cute redhead ... whom he later married. Jonathan lives what he does. He regularly runs, bikes, plays basketball, skis and (occasionally) loses at bar trivia. He also likes to talk. A lot. So he often speaks about fun and social fitness. (See more about that here.) Before launching BSC, Jonathan was an editor and writer published by ABC News, Forbes,New York and a slew of long-dead magazines.

Jesse Brukman | Editor

Convinced by Jonathan that living in New York City didn't mean he couldn't learn to ski, bike and lose 15 lbs., Jesse joined BSC to enrich his and readers' lives. Jesse was an editor at Maxim magazine for five years and has written for Time Out New York, Men's Journal, UFC Magazine and others. His athletic highlights include breaking his hand while dismounting a Segway, and "sort of dunking that one time."

Brian Toomes | Web Manager

A veteran of Soccer.com, where he was the Online Content and Social Media manager, Brian has a decade of web experience. In that time, and before joining at BSC, he did everything from front-end development to SEO consulting. In a past life, Brian was a news director at a North Carolina radio station. These days, you can find him running in Prospect Park, hiking or muttering at the TV during a UNC basketball game.

Jake Schonfeld | Marketing Director

Jake is an expert in all things fun and joined BSC because, well, he loves to have FUN! A former political operative in Canada, Jake moved to New York City to shake the cold of the Great White North and immerse himself in the red-hot startup scene of Silicon Alley. With experience at AOL and several small digital companies, he's helping New Yorkers find fun by spreading the word about BSC. You can find him running over the Williamsburg Bridge or trying to keep up with the ladies who lunch at 30/60/90.

Erin Kelly | Assistant Editor

After completing an internship for BSC during the spring semester of her senior year at Northeastern University in Boston, Erin continued to harass Jonathan for several months until she was finally offered a spot on the team. Much like BSC’s subscribers, Erin enjoys challenging herself with invigorating events like adventure races and boozy feats like finding the best deals on Blue Moons. With experience in journalism, social media and a short stint in public relations, Erin also brings a bit of Jersey pride to the office everyday.
