Be sure to wear your favorite Star Wars tighty whities and bring a hat and gloves; you wouldn't want to upset your mom by catching a chill.

The best college football teams in the nation face off this Monday in the BCS National Championship Game. Oregon Alumni plan to huddle with Duck fans around 80 TVs and $12 pitchers at Playwright Pub [map]. Auburn graduates will be headquartered at Bar 515 [map], indulging in 2 for 1 appetizers and $12 pitchers.

Most of New York City's outdoor races seem to hibernate during winter. The Amazing New York Race series doesn't take a break; it just goes underground. The new season begins this weekend and continues bi-monthly through the winter. Take to the tunnels with this competition that's part scavenger hunt, part obstacle course and all out-of-the-cold.
