Chile Chocolate Takedown
Brooklyn’s sweet and spicy cook-off will make your taste buds hurt to good
Sometimes it's okay to drool.
Relax your jaw, unfurl your tongue and let 'er drip because we're about to smother your taste buds in hedonistic sensory overload.
On Saturday, October 1, bring your mouth to the 3rd annual Brooklyn Chile Chocolate Takedown. It's a bacchanalian blowout of hot, sticky and sweet that'll leave you licking your fingers and begging for more.
The Takedown features amateur-produced creations that would give Chopped champions a run for their money. Savor Greg Erskine's delicious dish as he defends his three-time winning streak. (Last year's crowd favorite was his lip-smacking trigona.)
Hosted by Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the takedown is the mid-day climax of the seven-hour-long Chile Pepper Fiesta that features the Chile-Chocolate Wonderland, Chocolate Bar, borough's best red-hot specialties and some of the nation's hottest bands, including the Lost Bayou Ramblers with Violent Femmes' Gordon Gano.
This sweet-spicy splurge is likely to leave your taste buds hot and bothered -- and salivating for seconds.
