Business Development Account Manager

Location: New York City

Status: Full-time

Description: Blood, Sweat & Cheers is looking for a fun, entrepreneurial person to build our ad sales department, run it and grow relationships with media planners by taking them out to the fun and social activities we cover. Our new teammate should be self-motivated, outgoing and organized with an excellent understanding of digital advertising. Experience pitching to senior executives and advertising agencies is a plus. Compensation involves base salary, commission and company equity.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the sales cycle from start to finish: Research prospects, identify relevant contacts, negotiate and secure sales of online advertising and sponsorship programs to lifestyle brands across several categories (ie. beer and spirits, consumer electronics, health & fitness, beverages and snacks, nutrition, sporting apparel and gear, travel, automotive, …)
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and agencies by being visible, relevant, respected and helpful
  • Work with marketing director and CEO to create custom solutions/advertising proposals and partnership programs for brands and agencies
  • Work with editorial and production teams on campaign ideation, execution, coordination, tracking, optimization and reports
  • Meet and exceed quarterly sales goals and objectives and maximize all revenue growth opportunities for BSC

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of full-time professional experience with 3+ of those years in integrated sales. Also have a bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with experience at a results- and deadline-driven lifestyle digital media company
  • Experience selling integrated marketing initiatives across multiple platforms (ie. newsletter, website, social media and events) and the demonstrated ability to sell creatively -- not just to CPMs or display advertising
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships at a time
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with refined in-person and presentation skills
  • Savvy negotiator who responds creatively under pressure
  • Be a fun team player who understands the value and challenges of selling a start-up brand

Business Development Marketing Coordinator

Location: New York City

Status: Full-time

Description: Blood, Sweat & Cheers is looking for an emerging superstar to assist with marketing partnerships, syndication and ad sales. Our new teammate should be self-motivated, outgoing, fun and organized. The candidate should also enjoy doing the fun and social activities BSC covers. Compensation package involves base salary, performance bonus and company equity

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and administrative support related to marketing partnerships, brand marketing, PR, content syndication, events and ad sales
  • Coordinate all aspects of sales and marketing partnerships from prospecting, outreach, ideation, execution and optimization
  • Assist the marketing team in ensuring the successful execution of all deliverables for partnerships, marketing, PR and advertising campaigns
  • Work closely with marketing, editorial and production teams to craft relevant and exciting marketing and PR initiatives for partners and advertisers
  • Develop positive and long-term relationships with BSC marketing partners and advertisers
  • Attend events as a BSC brand ambassador, develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and agencies

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of full-time professional experience with 1+ of those years in integrated advertising sales. Also have a bachelor's degree in a related field of study.
  • Entrepreneurial and resourceful working independently in a results-oriented and deadline-driven environment
  • Superior organization skills and strong attention to detail with the ability to juggle many responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment
  • Creative and innovative, with a strong understanding of digital media, advertising, and event planning

Web Designer

Location: New York City

Status: Full-time

Description: Blood, Sweat & Cheers is seeking a highly motivated Web Designer to execute daily website and email content production, as well as create display banners and other assets to support marketing initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Design ad banners for use on our emails and site, as well as to attract new subscribers through partnerships and ad networks
  • Conduct story photo research, find eye-catching editorial images and format them for use
  • Post stories to website and email marketing service
  • Create web pages to support marketing partnerships and contests
  • Assist with special design projects and new initiatives, as needed

Requirements:

  • Be a self-starter who is detail-oriented, organized and capable of managing high-level responsibilities
  • Motivated to soak in new knowledge and learn on the ropes
  • An eye for usability and engaging design, plus the design chops to turn good ideas into reality
  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Experience working with content management systems
  • Strong communication and research skills
  • Meet deadlines without sacrificing creative quality
  • Strong interest in the fun and social fitness lifestyle

Editorial Internship

Location: New York City; Option to work remotely

Status: Part-time internship

Description: Candidate will report directly to our staff of senior-level magazine editors. There are three internship sessions: summer, fall and spring. Minimum time commitment is a full semester at 10 to 15 hours/week. Compensation is school credit. BSC is growing fast, so our internships often develop into paid freelance and full-time positions.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Generate and pitch story ideas; assist with editorial planning
  • Copyedit and fact-check articles
  • Liaise with publicists and companies to ensure delivery of test products
  • Report and write the occasional story
  • Assist with various publicity and marketing initiatives
  • Special projects, as needed

Requirements:

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in journalism or a related field
  • Be a self-starter who is detail-oriented, organized and capable of executing tasks from beginning to end without significant supervision
  • Excellent researching, writing and communication skills
  • Superb grammar and firm grasp of AP style
  • Strong interest in the fun and social fitness lifestyle
  • Have Internet access and a computer with Microsoft Office

  • Produce weekly reports on marketing campaigns

  • Must be an undergraduate or graduate student in a related field
  • Be a self-starter who is detail-oriented, organized and capable of executing tasks from beginning to end without significant supervision
  • Excellent research skills with expertise using Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Be an enthusiastic user of social networks who is on top of the latest trends, technologies and nuances
