Check Out Summer Streets New York
Some people think New York is too crowded. Others lament the traffic.
For a few days in August, most people will still think that. Actually, the traffic will probably be worse than usual, except for those enjoying Summer Streets.
On August 4, 11 and 18, nearly seven miles of New York City streets will be completely cleared in order to provide room for all the urban biking, roller-skating and food-eating you’d ever ask for.
(New Yorkers have already gotten a preview of the sweet zipline.)
Enjoy spontaneous yoga, ride your bike down a usual jam-packed boulevard, or — once you’re sick of zip-lining through an urban jungle while screaming like George — enjoy the Whole Foods Market City Picnic, where giveaways, eats and refreshing drinks are on offer from 7AM-1PM.
And if you’re planning on driving home once the event is over – well, good luck.
