NYC parks get grownup-friendly jungle gyms
Spending time on a playground as an adult invites uncomfortable questions. Like, "What are you doing here?" and "Do you even have kids?" and "This candy tastes sleepy."
OK, that's not really a question, but get ready to avoid that statement and most other awkward playground interactions with New York City’s new adult park program.
Though they're essentially outdoor gyms (chin-up bars, etc.), the parks are designed with the same flare and color as a kids' jungle gym. And there's no reason why you can't goof on the monkey bars (yes, they have those) while getting jacked.
The first park, a $200,000 project in the Bronx with 15 pieces of equipment, opened two years ago. But up to 24 new parks are slated to open in the next 18 months.
Which should leave plenty of backups in case your creepiness continues to get you banned!
