Yankee Stadium Run

The Bronx Bombers host a 5K for charity

Run for a good cause and show your Yankee pride

If you’re a real New Yorker, chances are you’ve ridden the D line to Yankee Stadium, sang the YMCA during the 7th inning stretch and eagerly yelled obscenities at anyone wearing something remotely resembling Red Sox apparel.

And even if you haven’t, you at least know who Derek Jeter is.

Gain access to the field that hosts pinstriped champions like Jeter, Robinson Cano and A-Rod at the fourth annual Damon Runyon, a 5k in and around the Bronx Bombers’ home field.

Runners and walkers will forge up ramps and concourses, take 103 steps at a time, and do victory laps around the warning track that circles the field — helping participants look better in vertical stripes and raise money for cancer research.

Your athletic career may have peaked in college (or as a little leaguer in grade school), but don’t give up on the dream of field-level views just yet.

And feel free to stampede over Red Sox fans.

Damon Runyon 5k; August 12 from 9:30am to 2:00pm (staggered start); $50 plus $60 fundraising minimum; Register
