NYC's Best Indoor Pools
Go swimming in these awesome indoor lap pools
Manhattan is surrounded by water.
But take a dip off our shores and you risk brain worm infections or frostbite of the nether regions (thanks, Fall).
Good thing this city is rich in indoor options for every type of swimmer.
The Manhattan Plaza pool features a retractable translucent roof and lush tropical plants. It's set up for laps during the day, so you can workout with the swim team in the morning. Plus, the Plaza even offers SCUBA classes. Oh, and did we mention you can order snacks right to your chair?

Asphalt Green has the only privately run Olympic-size pool in Manhattan. And it opens earlier than most other pools (like, 5:30AM early). This place is for serious swimmers; if, like a soccer mom in a minivan, you can’t keep up with traffic lifeguards will downgrade you to a slower lane.

Just like swimming in the Hudson -- Chelsea Piers' six-lane laps-only pool offers panoramic views of our Jersey neighbors. Bonus: The day pass gets you access to all of the Piers’ facilities, including an indoor sand volleyball court, a quarter-mile indoor track and tons of middle-aged women Jazzercising in makeup.
